What Phronesis is

Phronesis is not a chatbot. It is a companion — designed to engage you in the kind of dialogue the Primer invites. It carries the full text of Emergent Systems Thinking and Authentic Practice with Right Attention, the nine core tenets, the ten principles of authentic practice, and the RAW Systems Work Model®.

Ask it direct questions about the methodology. Push against a claim and see how the framework responds. Use it to prepare for a Canvas session, to deepen your understanding between training modules, or to explore a systems concept you're wrestling with in your own work.

How to Use Phronesis

Three agents — Hora, Hypatia, and Praxis — each serve a different purpose:

Hora: Qualification. Hora tests your understanding of the Primer's core concepts. Use it to check whether you've grasped a tenet, a principle, or a distinction the framework makes.

Hypatia: Depth. Hypatia engages with the philosophical and methodological foundations. Ask it about the intellectual lineage — where a concept comes from, what it draws on, how it relates to the broader systems thinking tradition.

Praxis: Applied Practice. Praxis helps you work with a real system you're engaging with. Describe what you're seeing, and Praxis will help you read it through the lens of the methodology.

You don't need to know which agent to use. Describe what you want, and Phronesis will route you to the right one.

What Phronesis is not

Not a substitute for the book. Phronesis works best when you've read the Primer or are reading it alongside. It extends the book into dialogue, but the book remains the primary source.

Not a replacement for training. The practitioner training develops your capacity to hold the Canvas, the Attune, and the Work with real systems. Phronesis supports that development — it doesn't replace it.

Not a general-purpose AI. Phronesis is trained on the Primer and the methodology. Ask it about other frameworks, and it will be honest about what it doesn't know.

Not a coach. Phronesis engages with ideas. It doesn't hold the room the way a trained practitioner does. For that, there are practitioners.
